Casim (Atta Yaqub), a young Scottish man of Pakistani origin, is a DJ who dreams of opening a club with his best friend. His parents, who emigrated to the UK in the 1960s, run a grocery and newspaper shop in Glasgow. Following the Muslim tradition, they have decided that Casim will marry his cousin Jasmine. Casim has two sisters: Rucksana, the eldest, is engaged to a young man her parents like. Tahara, the little girl, with a rebellious character, is finishing her studies at a Catholic institute, where Roisin (Eva Birthistle) is her music teacher. When Casim and Roisin meet, they are attracted, but keep their relationship a secret, as religious and cultural differences are an insurmountable obstacle for Casim's family. (FILMAFFINITY)
