- Synopsis
- Based on the poem of the same name by Adam Mickiewicz. 1812. Poland tries to fight to recover its independence since Russia had shared, together with Prussia and the Holy Roman Empire, all the Polish and Lithuanian territory. The Poles ask Napoleon for help, who takes advantage of the situation to try to finish off his Austrian and Russian enemies. In this context, two great families confront each other: the Soplicas, allies of the Russians, and the Horeszkos, defenders of Polish independence.
