Synopsis
Two-episode TV miniseries. At the end of the 11th century, Pope Urban II announces a crusade against the Saracens, who have occupied the holy city of Jerusalem. Richard, Peter and Andrew are three friends who join the Christian Army. The violent methods of the Crusaders soon become a cause of rift between them and, after a bloody attack on a Jewish monastery, they decide to go their separate ways. Andrew remains with the Crusaders, while Peter and Richard accompany the Jewish Rachel with whom they have both fallen in love to Jerusalem. In The Holy City the situation is difficult, because the Saracen governor has ordered the Christians to leave the city, for fear that there may be spies among them. When Andrew's troops arrive at the gates of Jerusalem, he is forced to face off with his friends. (FILMAFFINITY)
