- When an army officer is called to arms, he leaves his only daughter Sara at an all-girls boarding school. Nicknamed "the little princess" because her father insists that she receive the best of the best, without looking for it, she soon alienates the employees and other girls at the boarding school. One day Sara's father disappears and is presumed dead in the war, Sara becomes an orphan with no money who has to work as a maid at the school in order to survive.
