-SECOND HAND GOOD
-Francisco Franco, who had a meteoric military career, served the Republic as a soldier at the head of the legion, putting down the revolutionary uprising in Asturias in 1934, but he never abandoned his monarchist-conservative ideals. He began his participation in the military uprising cautiously and, despite his manifest ideological contradictions, became a political figure both admired and hated. Franco and the nationalists managed to quell the communist revolution as well as reinstate traditional moral values. After nearly forty years of Francoist rule, General Franco became the longest-serving dictator in power in 20th-century Europe.
