ELOÍSA IS UNDER AN ALMOND TREE - THEATER - ENRIQUE JARDIEL PONCELA (PAPER COVER BOOK)
Synopsis
A crazy family that hides the mysterious disappearance of a relative. A mystery, a murder and the fear of a next crime. A delicious police comedy with humor as absurd as it is incredible. Enrique Jardiel Poncela in its purest form. Enrique Jardiel Poncela (1901-1952) was a narrator, author, theater director and screenwriter. His work arises from the peculiar union of traditional comedy theater with avant-garde literary ideas, passed through the sieve of Gómez la Serna. His humor, implausible, crazy and imaginative, is the product of an intimate dissatisfaction, of a critical attitude towards society: unusual and surprising situations, mystery and intrigue, cynical dialogue and linguistic jokes serve to distort the logic of the everyday and make clear the vulgarity of existence. He died of cancer, broke and largely forgotten, at age 50.
