PS3 Slim Model
Following speculation that Sony was working on a model under the codename "slim", Sony officially announced the PS3 model CECH-2000 (Slim) on August 18, 2009, at the Sony Gamescom press conference. 30 31
Its main features include a slim form factor and a quieter noise level when the game console is turned on. It was released in major territories for the month of September 2009. As part of the release, the console's "Spider-Man" font on the capitalized "PlayStation 3" logo was changed and focused on a more traditional logo, with "PS3" printed on the console. Along with the new console design and logo, the boot screen of all consoles modified from Sony Computer Entertainment's slim model, include a characteristic sound eliminating the start of the game on the splash screen. The cover art and packaging of the games were also changed.
