Ry Cooder and Wini Wenclers have known each other for years, the former having scored some of Wenders' films. During filming, Cooder, completely enthusiastic, talked constantly about his trip to Cuba and the recording of an album with old Cuban musicians, some of whom had already been forgotten. Later the disc titled "Buena Vista Social Club" appeared, becoming a worldwide success awarded with a Grammy. This film conveys the strength of that album through the monitoring that Wenders and a small technical team made of the gruyx) in the recording studio and in their daily life in Havana. As a final touch, we will attend the last concert of the Buena Vista Social Club at the legendary Carnegie Hall in New York.
