Model PS3 Slim
Following speculation that Sony was working on a model under the codename "slim", Sony officially announced the PS3 (Slim) CECH-2000 model on August 18, 2009, at the Sony Gamescom press conference. 30 31
Its main features include a slim form factor and a quieter noise level when the game console is turned on. It was released in the main territories for the month of September 2009. As part of the launch, the font "Spider-Man" of the console in the capitalized logo "PlayStation 3", was changed and focused on a more traditional logo, with "PS3" printed on the console. Together with the new design of the console and the logo, the boot screen of all the consoles modified from the slim model of Sony Computer Entertainment, include a characteristic sound eliminating the start of the game on the welcome screen. The art of the cover and the packaging of the games were also changed.
