Simón, a young aspiring writer, makes a living designing crossword puzzles for a Sevillian newspaper, while Sapo, his roommate, survives as a private English teacher. One day Simón receives a threatening message on his answering machine that urges him to include the word "adversary" in his next crossword puzzle, the one for Palm Sunday. It all seems like a joke in bad taste, but Simón gives in to the threat without really knowing why. The result is a series of attacks on the eve of the last Holy Week of the millennium. Terrified by the consequences of his decision, he decides to investigate the facts with the help of María, a colleague from the newspaper who has been assigned the case. Little by little, he will discover horrified how a series of casual circumstances are framing him. (FILMAFFINITY)
