-SECOND HAND VERY GOOD
Synopsis
Under the title Petersburg Novels, Gógol grouped the five stories (The Nose, Neva Avenue, The Portrait, The Cape and Notes of a Madman) that we collect in this volume. Two of them have become particularly famous: The Nose, which begins to seize the reader from the moment a barber finds a nose in the bread he is eating, and The Cloak, from which all modern Russian literature sprang, according to Dostoevsky claimed. But in all of them the double social and literary interest can be seen, which makes Gógol a revived classic, and the satirical vein, tinged with humor and compassion, of which that poor madman from Apuntes could be a prototype, who believed he was Fernando VIII of Spain.
